Incoming: Easter brewery bus tour and more

A Good Friday brewery bus tour, a movement day party, the return of the Fangs A Lot snakebite bar, a Folkestone art takeover and more dates for your diary over the coming weeks.

The Gadds and Northdown breweries Easter tour is back, and this time they’re bringing a friend. This year, on Friday April 18, the beer bus will also take you to the Wantsum Brewery near Canterbury. Pick your starting brewery, then get on the bus for the next stop to sample a different set of pints. Tickets £5

The Movement night is back at Faith In Strangers on Sunday, May 4 and this time they’re getting started early. It’ll kick off at 4pm and run through to 10pm. Founders Daniel Avery and Matt Walsh are on board to DJ, with the remaining line-up still to be announced. Tickets £20.74.

The PRAH record label is hosting a night at Margate Arts Club on Friday, May 16. There will be live sets from brilliant experimental electronic acts Uh and Thool, plus a DJ set from Kate Hutchinson. PRAH is at the forefront of boundary-pushing, exciting underground music in the UK, so this is definitely one not to miss. Tickets £7

It’s been over a year since snakebite bar Fangs A Lot last popped up spat its venom at us. Not literally. But popping up it will be, at Bar Nicoletta in Cliftonville on Friday, April 25. Once again, they will be serving up a range of cider and lager combinations, attempting to show that interesting things can be done with the drink that might loosely be called a cocktail.

Remember when Betty Boo was doing the do? Well, she still is. She’s touring to mark the 35th anniversary of her UK hip hop classic (fight me) Boomania this summer. You’ll be able to catch her at The Booking Hall in Dover on Thursday, June 5. Tickets £26.

This year’s Folkestone Triennial takes place from July 19 to October 19. The event will see 18 artists from 16 countries create new artworks across the town. Curated by Sorcha Carey, this year’s theme is ‘How Lies the Land?’, and will explore shifting landscapes, histories, and futures. Artists set to take part include Celine Condorelli, Emilija Škarnulytė, and Sara Trillo.

The Bottleneck in Broadstairs is holding a wine tasting evening on Thursday, May 29 where you’ll get to sample the English sparkling wines of Nyetimber. Charcuterie and cheese will also be included. Head into the shop or DM to book.

Big Penny Social in Walthamstow is opening new games hall Flukes on Thursday, May 8. It’ll have darts, shuffleboard, pool and karaoke. A good spot to meet up with friends who haven’t yet made the inevitable move down the coast. Follow on Instagram for more info.
