Incoming: Stereolab, Ross From Friends, Colina

A one-off gig by one of Britain's finest electronic bands, a kids show in the vein of Horrible Histories and a supper club by Chef Songsoo Kim - just a few of the fab dates in the calendar coming your way.

Make the most of daylight savings with an evening social cycle. Col’s Kent’s Bike Tours runs a weekly ride every Tuesday departing at Margate station at 6.30pm. It’s free, and should last around two hours and take you along some cracking coastal paths.

Stereolab will be playing a one-off warm up show at The Booking Hall in Dover on Saturday, May 24 before they jet off on a world tour. The show also coincides with the release of their new album Instant Holograms on Metal Film - their first LP since 2010. If you miss them in Dover, there are further dates around the UK in December, but none so close or anywhere near as intimate as the 330 capacity Booking Hall. Tickets £25

Rare DJing documentary Hang the DJ is set to be screened in a handful of cinemas around the UK for the first time in 27 years this May, including The Palace in Broadstairs. The Broadstairs screening on Thursday, May 22 will also feature a Q&A with journalist Joe Shabadu, followed by an after party at Neptunes Hall. Ross From Friends will be DJing under his new alias Bubble Love at Faith In Strangers on Saturday, June 7. That’s the electronic artist Ross From Friends - aka Felix Clary Weatherall - not David Schwimmer, for the avoidance of doubt. More playful and club-focussed than his main project, this will be a rare opportunity to see him in such an intimate setting in either guise. Tickets £16.03.

A show that sounds utterly brilliant (and for kids, but whatever), the Rubbish Shakespeare Company and Silly History Boys are teaming up for The Story Forge: Make Your Own Myth. Silly historians Lee Hithersay and Robert Rhys Bond will be inventing three new myths, using only the minds of the audience and some cardboard props. Aimed at children aged 7+, there will be two performances at The Gulbenkian in Canterbury on Saturday, May 3. Tickets £8.

This month’s Lounge Wizards psychedelic music night at Daisy in Cliftonville will take place on Thursday, April 24. The Good Egg in Margate is two years old. I’m not sure how it could be that long already, but I don’t see why they’d lie about it. Whatever, they’re having a party and you’re all invited. Yes, even you. From 6pm until late on Thursday, April 24 they’ll be serving up £5 margaritas and £5 bowls of scran. What’s in a bowl of scran? Doesn’t matter, it only costs a fiver.

Cliftonville’s Lido Stores hosts a new joint exhibition by sculptor Sheila Vollmer and painter Jackie Askew titled Two Singers, One Song from April 24 to May 10. There will be a private view on Saturday, April 26 from 7-9pm.

Have you always dreamed of being able to paint and eat pizza at the same time? Well, let’s make that dream a reality. She’ll lead you step-by-step through creating two artworks, while you wolf down pizza from Hot Wood Pizza and quaff a complimentary drink. Tickets £38.62
