Half term fun, gigs and fun stuff to do in Ramsgate.

West Cliff Hall, a huge building that has been left derelict since the Motor Museum moved out in 2005, has been put back on the market, going for auction on May 29, with a guide price of £325,000. First opened in 1914 as a theatre, concert hall and promenade venue, the Stones played at the venue in 1964. Set on .75 acres, the building has positive pre-planning application advice to create an 89 bedroom hotel.

Punky, queer cabaret crew Screaming Alley head to Ramsgate Music Hall for the first time for “minor musical cabaret explosion” SlapPeR. Abandoned chalk quarry, Monkton Nature Reserve has plenty of half term activities this week from insect hunts to crafts and scavenger hunts. These are taking place on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday May 28, 30 and 31, at 11am and 1pm. Sessions are £5. It’s also a great spot for a roam around, with two nature trails, a bat cave, chalk cliffs and a permanent sculpture hunt in place. monkton-reserve.org

This Bean Spins runs hula hooping classes every Sunday, 10.30am to 11.30am and 11.40am to 12.40pm. Welcoming of all ages and abilities, you’ll walk away from each session with a new trick as you learn how to spin hoops on various parts of the body. Ramsgate Pride takes place on June 1, with a range of activities to be part of, whether you’ve got the kids in tow or want to let it all hang out. The march starts at 11am on High and Harbour Street, followed by a picnic in Albion Gardens if the weather holds out. Family-friendly events will be held throughout the day followed by an After Party at Sugar Rush. If you fancy, there’s a creative ribbon workshop today, Saturday 25 at Sugar Rush from 2pm-4pm, for adults and children. Make a ribbon to wave at the parade or family rave or wherever, really.
