Ramsgate Festival of Sound has extended its submission deadline. Now, you have until Sunday May 12 at 5pm to submit your idea for the festival's sonic trail. Four artists (emerging, hobby or established) will receive £600 each to create original work for the festival, running August 22-25. Head to ramsgatefestival.org for more information and to submit.

***EDIT: May 31 date has already sold out. A second date has been added for Saturday, June 1*** Catch join up with Seabird for an elegant but unfussy supper club on Friday, May 31 at 6.30pm. Held at the Radford House Fire Station, the grilled fish dinner is inspired by balmy Mediterranean meals and coastal bounty. £35 for three courses and a welcome drink. Salon Du Miel is a new queer cabaret and performance venue by the Sugar Rush crew. Opening up in the the old WH Smith building it's one of three performance spaces opening up in the space by the cafe and State Door Arts Academy CIC. The Granville Theatre hosts Ramsgate Comedy Club on June 15 at 7.3opm, with a headline set from Reginald D Hunter, as seen on TV shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks, QI, and Have I Got News For You. Tickets on sale now for £24.20 + bf.

Granville Theatre will also host comedian Ed Byrne, who will perform his show Tragedy Plus Time on Sunday, May 19, at 7.30pm. The show's title is a reference to Mark Twain saying that comedy is tragedy plus time. Byrne tests this theory by mining the most tragic event in his life for laughs. Tickets are from £30.25.
