Hold Creative Spaces and Thanet Experimental have announced a new programme of artist residencies for 2025. Two participants will be fully funded to undertake artistically-focused research projects over two months later this year. Full details.
A studio has come up at TKE Studios that would work for a painter working at a postgraduate level. On top of having a nice studio with lots of natural light, you’ll get to take part in talks, life drawing, exhibitions and all that sort of fun stuff. Get in touch now to express interest.
Margate’s Turner Contemporary has commissioned artist Cassi Namoda to paint the floor to ceiling windows of its Sunley Gallery this summer. This follows the success of Beatriz Milhazes’ window installation O Esplendor in 2023. The painting of the windows for the summer months is now to become an annual tradition. Cassi Namoda’s work will be officially unveiled in May 2.
A new ‘curated and vintage’ marketplace will open up in Bar Nicoletta at Cliffs on April 24 for cocktails and clothes. Margate Bazaar will host clothing swap events too, so stay tuned for more details.
