Home-bakers, businesses and professional cake makers - Carlton Cinema in Westgate hosts a MacMillan cancer coffee morning on Friday, September 27, and are asking those with kitchen skills to donate some kind of sweet treat. The Turner’s new exhibition of works by Anya Gallaccio is set to open on Saturday, September 28. The artist will fill the gallery with artworks that will change and develop (or decay) over the course of their time there. This new video gives an idea of what to expect.
Running Saturday September 21 (today), Oct 12, Nov 16 and Dec 14 from 2pm-4pm, See Me Play at Garden Gate are autumnal and winter afternoon play spaces for neurodivergent and disabled families. There’s art, music, forest school sessions, sensory play, treats to eat and the opportunity to explore the delightful garden’s grounds.

Starting from the week just gone, from 4pm-6pm you can guzzle, quaff, down or swill choice wines for just £5 a glass. Choose from their extensive range including pet nats, oranges, and drops that will make you reconsider any staunchly held opinions about particular styles.
Dreamland Dog Day Show is on tomorrow, Sunday, September 22 for a doggy dopamine hit. Running 11am to 6pm and with a £2 entry ree, the day is a dream date for dogs and their owners, who can both go nuts over treats and gifts, for humans and pooches, an agility course, a film and free doggy ice cream. Plus, enter your beloved animal into one of the show’s categories, for free. Naughtiest dog and scruffiest dog are our pick of the categories, All funds raised go to RSPCA Kent.
Bon Volks Studios in Margate host an open studios day, Saturday, October 5, 3pm-8pm. Have a poke around and meet the studio’s artists, writers and creatives. There’s also performances, workshops for the kids, drinks and good chat.
Photographer Ed Thompson kicks off The Margate School’s first photography workshops with his Weird Photo Walk, on Sunday, September 29. Ed will guide you through psychogeography and “flâneur-ism”, so you can inject as bit more personality and artistry into your snaps. Runs 11am-3pm. Tickets £40, book via Eventbrite.
